Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Art is an educational and bonding tool which I enjoy and often use art forms like music, literature and fine art (finger painting) to not only teach children about the world around them, but give them an appreciation for life.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Loving children. If you love children and it won't be a job and as cliché as that sounds, it's true. Children flourish when natured and by doing so we preserve their innocence and cultivate a healthy environment for them to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I have looked after an infant after they had a craniosynostosis and that experience not only made me more grateful to have cared for him cause he changed me for the better, but also taught me caring for any child you need to have the proper research, training and dedication.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The funniest moment I can think is the best moment I have taking care of a child was when a 6 year old clogged the toilet and after he had been constipated for a while. He was so worried it was adorable and so funny. I had the explain to him that it was fine and that we all have done that before. He was genuinely worried that it was the most adorable thing ever! Also it was a bonding moment, he trusted me to make the problem go away and I helped him understand life better.
