We are a fun, creative, and active family of 4 living in Lafayette, looking for a loving and responsible part-time nanny to join our household. Our 4 year old daughter and 13 year old son are sweet, friendly, funny, creative, caring, and helpful. We value creativity, education, good nutrition, kindness, engaging play, and outdoor play. We are seeking someone who shares our enthusiasm for raising happy and well-rounded children. Someone who loves to ‘play’, can be silly, positive, nurturing, and energetic. Interests and abilities in performing arts, crafts, legos, skateboarding, reading, and, and the outdoors will win our kids over.
Responsibilities:
Provide safe and nurturing care for our children during our part-time schedule of at least 3 days a week (a minimum of 9 hours, more would be wonderful!).
Assist with age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, reading, homework (especially 8th grade math!), making nutritious snacks, engaging play, outdoor play, and games.
Help encourage the kids to be responsible for cleaning up their own messes (with some constructive guidance), prioritizing homework afterschool, etc., google hygiene and good manners.
Help prepare and serve light meals and snacks.
Assist with other daily tasks as needed .
Transport children to and from school or activities as needed.
Communicate effectively with parents about the children's day.
Qualifications:
Experience caring for children is a must.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
A positive attitude, patience, and a playful spirit..
Excellent driving record and a reliable car.
Strong organizational skills and multitask.
Reliable.
Non-smoker and a valid driver's license are required.
Education in early childcare, education, or similar is a plus.
Ability to occasionally babysit on an evening.
Additional Information:
We have 2 guinea pigs; no care is required
smoke-free household.
