A little bit about us

Location: Fort Jackson, SC

Schedule: daycare pickup 3-4 days per week
Occasional weekdays when daycare is closed. Occasional weekend hours (~3 hours, flexible)

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $40 per pickup. Up to $20/hr (gross) Based on experience

Job Description: We’re an active, fun-loving family with two young children (a 3-year-old and a 15-month-old) looking for a warm, reliable, and energetic nanny to join our crew. Our ideal candidate is someone who’s confident with little ones, enjoys a bit of routine but can also go with the flow, and is genuinely passionate about caring for kids.

We’re looking for someone who can pick up the boys from daycare and bring them home, help out with the transition to dinner and do some tidying.

We are also looking for backup care on weekdays - which is unpredictable but frequent. Between daycare closings, holidays and mild illness with little ones, we would love to have someone to call when something comes up. Weekend hours are occasionally available if you're open to it, but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Pick up from school nearby (~10 mins) and drive them safely home
- Unload school items, repack for next day
- Generally helping out while we get dinner on the table (washing hands, playing, shoes off, etc)

For occasional daytime care:
- primary caregiver for both children during the day
- Prep and serve lunch/snacks
- Engage in age-appropriate play and activities
- Assist with nap-time
- Light tidying up (toys, dishes, bottles, etc.)
- Optional: Support during occasional weekend hours for outings, date nights, or backup care

If this sounds like a match for you, we’d love to hear from you! Please reach out so we can talk further.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in South Carolina. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want.
