We are looking for someone competent with safe sleep; follows directions well; certified in infant CPR & first aid and choking prevention; can safely feed a 1-3year old; received all their vaccines (COVID, Tdap, flu, etc.); can pass a criminal background check; has a drivers license; has references.
We want someone who also meets the following qualifications as well: (1) How to deal with difficult behaviors, for example when a child isn't obeying you; (2) How to conduct yourself professionally as a babysitter and communicate with parents; (3) When it's appropriate to call 911 versus a parent; (4) How to handle medical emergencies like asthma attacks or bee stings.
The caregiver must be familiar with maneuvering a baby proofed home. Our home is ENTIRELY baby proofed and we expect it to remain that way. If something is missing or loose, we must be notified. The caregiver must always have the baby proof locks in the “active” position and be sure to lock everything behind them to prevent accidents.
The caregiver must understand childhood development and milestones and be alert so as to let me know if anything changes with our son’s development. The caregiver must have a great understanding of how to engage toddler age children and enhance their growth and development.
It is important that the caretaker know the signs and symptoms of an impending illness to watch out for should James develop a cold (monitor for fever; diarrhea; abdominal discomfort; rash; redness, etc). It is important that our son is monitored well with his health and safety. In the same vain, expect that if the caregiver is sick they will not show up to work/ and let us know ahead of time.

I love for the kids to stay busy. They attend basketball, gymnastics, swim, and tennis. We need someone who can come up with fun activities for the kids to do on their free time, weather it's learning new things, reading, spending times out doors, or going to indoor play areas.
The kids need help waking up, getting ready and dressed, preparing a healthy breakfast, making sure their backpacks are ready and dropping off to school. Pickups, help with driving to after school activities, homework, and bath time.
We have a housekeeper, but light housecleaning would include, keeping kids rooms and play areas clean and organized, kids laundry, taking out the trash at the end of the day, putting dishes in dishwasher, and wiping down kitchen counters.
