A little bit about us

I am looking for someone intelligent, caring, and effective in multitasking, with a strong sense of initiative and decision-making skills. You will be responsible primarily for household management (meal planning, cooking, laundry, errands), as well as driving, and some childcare.

I need someone for 18 hours, two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). You will start around 1230pm and end at 930pm. The first bit of your day will be child-free. This is where you'll prep meals, run errands, and do laundry. The plan will be that each day you'll prepare enough food so that there are cooked dinners and snacks for 2 days/nights. At 3pm, the driving begins with after school pick-ups. In between driving, you'll continue to run errands, grocery shop, help with homework, etc. Every day is different!

You must easily manage shifting calendars and the complexity of a family with four busy children. You must also be a good cook that is able to talk to the kids and make meal plans on a budget. I'll place a Walmart order so that the ingredients will be here for you when you arrive.

It's a plus if you have hours available on other days, but not required. The schedules change frequently, so flexibility is a must for us! There will be weeks where we are out of town on Thursdays, so we would have you do Tuesday/Wednesday instead or skip Thursday. Nanny must be a good communicator and open to speaking freely with parents about the children and happenings within the home. Must also be comfortable with a conversational style of discipline versus timeouts or taking things away. A sense of adventure is a must!

About the children: 14-year old high school freshman playing travel volleyball and very involved in school clubs, 13-year old 8th grade girl, 11-year old 6th grade girl playing travel softball, and 4-year old boy in Montessori. School activities and travel sports add an extra layer of complexity to the family schedule.
