I have been an elementary school teacher for the past seven years. I have taught first, second, third, and fifth grade, as well as tutoring in all grades K-8. I have my Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction as a Reading Specialist. I have stayed at home with my daughter this year, and would like to continue to care for her, but would like to put my educational background to good use with the right family. I would be willing to provide long-term care if it is a great fit. I would like to provide educational care rather than just "watching" children. I take what I do very seriously and have wonderful work ethic. I could create a program that is specifically tailored to your child or children.

I'm a natural caretaker- I'm the type of person who loves helping others & taking care of those I love. From a very young age, I knew that childcare was a passion of mine and that I would ultimately end up working with children in the future. Age 6-10: Mother's helper; basically learned the ropes taking care of neighbors' kids while the parents did things around the house. Age 12-present: essentially FULL caretaker of my younger half-brother. Started at infancy and have been there almost every step of the way caring for him. In between all of that time, I have worked as a nanny for a newborn; feeding, changing, play time, cleaning around the house, etc. I stuck with a routine that kept the baby content and comforted. I worked as a nanny for two girls, ages 8 and 12. Picked up/dropped off for school, helped with homework, made dinner, bath time and bed time "prep". I've babysat for many, many others in the midst of all that and have traveled as far as China to work with orphans and foster children. We taught the "nannies" in the orphanages how to use toys to stimulate the childrens muscles and other important tips.

I have never been a nanny and I am hoping to become a Summer Nanny. I have been a babysitter multiple times. I have at least 8 years of experience with children. When I was just 13 years old I was a junior lifeguard for the baby pool. I have experience with watch little children in general as well as watching them in the swimming pool. As I turned 15 I continued to become a lifeguard. Again I had experience with being able to watch many age groups of children in the swimming pool. With my lifeguard job I also was a swim lessons coach to many children of different age groups. I have been swimming competitively for over 10 years so I have a large amount of experience in a swimming pool. In high school I was a teacher assistant for a pre school one year and then a second grade class. I have also been a huge part in my niece's life. I have been babysitting her since she was a baby. With her I love to take her to places like the pool or the aquarium, or build a bear where she can learn and we have fun doing it. I love kids and I would love to be a nanny.

I started trying to babysit at the age of 5. I love children and truly believe that the more we can give children now the better we are making their future. I strive every day to provide every child I encounter the best opportunities to have fun learning every lesson they can. I started working as babysitter in high school and even as an adult I contact the families I babysat in high school at least once a year. I currently work as a preschool teacher at a local preschool where I have been since May of 2010. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and I am looking forward to starting my Masters in Early Childhood Education in the next couple of years.

I have worked in corporate childcare for 2 years now. I would love to work with one family full time. I have worked with kids of all ages, including kids with special needs. I have taught swim lessons with kids ages 2-7. I have worked thoroughly with infants and toddlers. I have also worked with older kids substantially. All of the people I have worked for before have continued to use me when they need me. I have also worked in a classroom as I am getting my elementary education degree. All of the kids I babysit for love me and I love working with kids!

I am the oldest of 16 grandkids so I have grown up taking care of them. I have also had two nanny jobs. The first was caring for twin boys when I was in high school. The second was for two girls who were four and about 6 months old. I took them to the park, to the zoo and ultimately got to know them and their family.
