A little bit about me
I am a nanny with more than 20 years in childcare. I am a mom of an adult daughter. I am bubbly, energetic, nurturing and kind. I enjoy singing, playing pretend, going outside and being silly. I can assist with all ages and absolutely love children. I can gauge my reactions based on the child's comfort and needs. I am very empathetic and loving. The world is our classroom and I encourage learning through play and exploration.
I take my cues from the kids to plan our time together. I look at their interests and plan crafts, songs and learning around them.
I remain highly adaptable because it is my desire to come alongside the parents and support their parenting style. This allows me to maintain high levels of consistency for the children and peace of mind for the parents.
I can provide several references and am willing to submit to background and driving record checks.
I would be delighted to learn more about your needs.
Thank you for reading.

A little bit about me
I was a summer camp counselor for 2 years and a youth associate at HCC.
I was previously a youth associate at the YMCA as well. I have nannied for 2 years for an infant and 5yr old. And for another family with a 4yr old and a 10yr old. I babysit occasionally. I have also worked at the Cedarhouse school as a lead teacher as my most recent job. I teach the kids to be independent in a safe way and teach them developmental, gross and motor skills. I love to do arts and crafts, sensory and cooking crafts with the kids.
I love animals and kids of all ages!! I have a younger brother and 2 younger neighbors that I babysit as well. I’m looking for a more permanent family.
I cook and clean and am willing to drive up to 40 minutes for a family!
I have many references so please feel free to ask!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Richmond, VA
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Richmond Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Richmond? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Richmond?
- Do you have a driver’s license in VA? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
