A little bit about me…

Hi, my name is Alicia, but everybody calls me CECE I am 36 years old. I have two children of my own a 12 year old son name, Anthony and I also have a 14-year-old daughter name Raquel. I am a single parent, so I take caring for children very seriously I often find myself rather wanting to spend time with children than adults because they’re brutally honest. I am a big child at heart at the same time I have to be responsible. I have another job I work at Safeway as a manager, but considering the fact that I am a single parent of a 14 and 12 year old, I continuously need to generate more money. I hope that you would allow me to take this opportunity to help you guys out and I give you my word your children will be in the best hands I live in Port Orchard and I do have a car and I’m going to take a CPR classes and first aid. Thank you so much and I hope you have a wonderful day.

A little bit about us…

*seeking on-call/babysitting*
*we do have a permanent nanny hired but we are seeking help when she is out sick. This would be an on-call type of basis, not permanent full time work.

Here is what the day would like like while on call listed below,

We have 2 daughters (11 month old and 3.5 year old). Our 11 month old will need care for the entire schedule. Our 3 year old has preschool on Tues/Thur/Fri from 9am-12pm. We need some assistance with daily activities such as: feeding, changing diapers, developmemtally appropriate play, cleaning toys, nap time, daily walks, etc. A plus would be someone to help drive our 3 year old to preschool on T/Th/Fri. We can swing drop off/pick up but would be helpful to have someone reliable for drop offs in time. Care schedule will be M-F from 730am to 4pm.

How to Hire a Nanny in Port Orchard, WA

Nanny Lane is an easy-to-use website that helps families find experienced local nannies in Port Orchard. Simplify your nanny search and find your perfect nanny today. Our services include background checks, nanny contracts, and nanny payroll.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Port Orchard, WA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Port Orchard Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Port Orchard? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Port Orchard?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in WA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
