A little bit about us

I’m looking for care for a special needs 8 year old, he has anxiety, ADHD, celiac disease, asthma and some sensory needs (similar to autism but he doesn’t meet enough of the other criteria to fall into that category). Days will vary based on my rotating schedule (I’m a RN) but will range from one to three days a week. 9am to 5 pm weekdays except Wednesdays, as I do not work Wednesdays.
My husband does work from home full time so he will be in the house and potentially around during breaks.
We also have several dogs and a cat so being comfortable around animals is a must!
I am also interested in a live in/ room and board situation as well, we have a spare room with its own bathroom and is near a separate entrance from our main entrance giving you privacy to come and go on you own as well

A little bit about us

Hi! We’re the Edgerton-Fulton family and recently relocated to Lynchburg. We’re both faculty members at Longwood University.

We have a bright, curious first-grade daughter who loves learning and is academically strong. She is neurodivergent and does best with a patient, encouraging adult who can provide emotional support, structure, and help with transitions.

We’re looking for a dependable Longwood student with experience working with neurodivergent children who can become a consistent and trusted part of her homeschool routine while we’re teaching.
