A little bit about us

In search of an engaging & energetic nanny for our 3 year old son, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He is very active! Loves being outside as much as possible, and currently is into trucks, trains, airplanes, and animals! Must be energetic, patient, creative, exude a positive attitude, and be comfortable enforcing and creating boundaries in correlation with my chosen approach steps. i.e. @drbeckygoodinside: using a calm low-tone voice explaining reasonings for boundaries and validating emotions during a tantrum instead of yelling or time outs.
Primary days are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12pm-6pm or 2pm-8pm. Flexibility is required as times and hours are subject to change both earlier and later due to our work schedules and when he starts 3K in September.

At times, hours will be available on Monday, Tuesday, Saturdays and Sundays, dependent on need and scheduling, but will be elaborated during the initial interview.

Starting rate is $18/ hour, with raises available dependent on performance. An unlimited monthly MetroCard will be provided, along with all meals.

Requirements needed:

-Ability to adhere to a routine, with possible documentation of activities and meals.
-Assist in meal prepping, ensuring a balanced diet is offered at each meal including new types of foods and cuisines.
-Engage and create educational activities
-Ensure time with outdoor activities at parks are maximized, while FULL attention is given at all times.
-Respond consistently and with care to toddler emotions/tantrums (emotional validation focused)
-Speak more than one language, preferably Spanish & Korean (fluency in both languages will be offered an immediate raise)
-Only be on their phone sparingly (emergencies, important calls/ texts only)

Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Send resumes to: [email hidden]

Thank you!

A little bit about us

Hugo is a great 9 month old who is very interested in crawling around, exploring and teething. He is in daycare but we are looking for someone to help us care for him after hours and help control the chaos of our house. I have to be out of town four days a month (Monday/Tuesday ever other week) so those dates plus Saturdays would be the priority for us. But in order to offer more hours we would like to combine the Hugo-watching with some housekeeping.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Brooklyn. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions , it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.
