A little bit about us

Hey my husband Josh and I have two sweet boys and live on a beautiful 4 acre property just north of Charlottesville. Our 7 year old son loves building and science and our 16 month old baby is super sweet and social. We need help 2-3 days a week (Fridays are a must) with both boys, though our 6 year old is in morning camps most of the summer and will start school again in the fall. We’ll need some pick up/drop off, light meal prep and light housekeeping in kid areas. We love for our boys to do lots of playing outdoors and not aa much screentime.

A little bit about us

Hello! We are looking for summer help 1-4pm as an extra set of hands with our 3 year old and 8 month old daughters. I’ll be home and available to help. We’re also seeking care beginning in August. Primary responsibilities would be with our youngest as our toddler would be in preschool the majority of the day. Responsibilities would include typical infant care- age appropriate play, feeding, getting down for naps, etc. We'd love someone who is open to outings like the library and other baby classes, so a clean driving record is a must. We have one friendly 14 year old dog, so must be comfortable with pets (but would have no responsibilities). We look forward to hearing from you!

A little bit about us

We are looking for a do-it-all nanny to join our family! Ideally around 40 hours a week including some weekend time. We have a 3.5 year old boy and a 2 month old baby girl. We need an extra set of hands! Our son loves playing pretend and has very good conversation skills for his age. Baby girl loves close face-to-face time and her mobiles make her smile! We are looking for someone who is professional, reliable, loving, confident, and detail-oriented. Ideally our nanny will be happy to switch between house work and child care. I would love help sharing the load of cooking, cleaning, shopping, transporting our son to and from preschool, and occasionally traveling with us in addition to babysitting. Live-in is an option. We live on 11 acres in a pretty area and enjoy the privacy of nature while still being in a fun neighborhood near vineyards (you can walk to one!), and 20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Please reach out with any questions! Thank you.

A little bit about us

We are looking for someone wonderful to become part of our family and care for our baby at our home, Monday to Friday from 830am to 430pm (30-35 hours/week) starting in July/August. He will be 4 months old then. Care will be primarily for him but I would like our nanny to also pick up my older son from school nearby at 330pm every day. He will be 3 in August (about an hour per day would also be spent with him).
We’d love someone with RIE and/or Montessori experience but not required. We follow gentle/responsive parenting. I’d like baby out in nature as much as possible throughout the day. We live in Fry’s Spring so it’s a beautiful neighborhood for walking and you may also go to the Beach Club. I work from home so I’d like to be able to nurse and spend time with baby throughout the day.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Charlottesville, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Charlottesville, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Charlottesville, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
