A little bit about us…

Sweet, funny, intelligent, energetic little men (10 months and 2.10 years old) and family are looking for an active nanny to adventure with them and teach them life skills as their parents work primarily from home. We have one small dog and a cat that are active and loving toddler guardians! We are looking for a nanny that is comfortable with a toddler and a baby and willing to work weekdays during normal business hours (9-5 maybe some optional nights). The best nanny fit for us is someone who loves to learn and teach, willing to do baby sign language, active, enjoys the outdoors and walks, loves animals, has a sense of humor, and easy going personality.
Our current nanny who has become like family is heading back home to care for aging parents. She will assist in the interview and transition process. We are hoping to fill this role before end of March. We are excited to welcome a new long term nanny or someone who can commit to us through at least August.

The care will take place in our home with the majority of the time with our easy 10 month old who takes two naps. Our three year old will be there some of the time after preschool. Ability to do preschool drop-off/pickup in our vehicle is a plus but we can workaround if you're unable to do so. Potential to bring other small children along.

A little bit about us…

We are looking for help for our two-year-old and two month old children. Sienna is our two-year-old daughter. She has a lot of energy and is very inquisitive in general. She is a little late on the talking spectrum, but she understands most things that are spoken to her.

Jackson is our two month old boy. He is still getting used to strangers but is very very sweet. It doesn’t require much, other than naps every hour or so and feeding every 2 to 3 hours along with diaper changes.

I work from home full-time so can be there to assist if there are temper tantrum’s or one of them is inconsolable.

Timeline: We are looking for someone for the week of September 28th through October 7th.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Lorton, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Lorton, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Lorton, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
