A little bit about us

I have a 4 year old daughter who is in head start and a 8month old daughter. I would need someone to take my 4 year old to school (she is still in a car seat so one will be provided) and someone to take care of my 8 month old while I’m at work. I also need help with house hold cleaning as well, like laundry, dishes, and general cleanliness. I need to be to work by 730 am and I get off at 230 pm to pick up my 4 year old. I also have a dog but we normally keep him in his kennel while we are away. This is also Monday through Friday and sometimes Saturday

A little bit about us

Hello! I have a 6 month old daughter. I would like to keep her out of daycare so I was hoping we could find a nanny. I am a full time student and my husband is in the navy. I don’t have a job yet, but if we can find a nanny that will change. Monday-Friday would most likely be the days needed for help. Hours could be from 9-3 although that may change. We stay at the house mostly so there isn’t any drop offs or pick ups needed. I will be around still at first until I can get a job, so most of the time I will need help watching her so I can do school work and job hunt. Once I find a job, the hours and days needed may change but I will try my best to keep it Monday-Friday or whatever works best for the nanny.

A little bit about us

Hi there! We just moved to Norfolk so are brand new to the area. We have 3 year old son and just had a baby girl in Nov. We are looking for a full-time nanny to care for our baby after I return to work in mid March. Our 3 year old is in preschool for most of the day, but will need some occasional care too (like on days his school is closed).

We are looking for a caregiver who has experience with babies & toddlers, has great referrals, is reliable, and who loves to engage with young kids.

We also will require any caregiver we hire to be vaccinated against covid-19.

Hourly rate negotiable!

Also interested in babysitters for occasional nights and weekends.

A little bit about us

Looking for full time nanny to assist my wife and I with kids while we work. Both of us work from home but find it very difficult doing both. Care would mostly be for 9month old and 7 year old with occasional assistance with the 14&15yrold girls with school work (all kids are homeschooled)
Live in for negotiated rate or live out at negotiated rate. We are very flexible so if other obligations are present, we can possibly work around them.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Norfolk, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Norfolk, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Norfolk, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
