A little bit about us

Looking for a part-time nanny to care for our bundle of joy when he is around 2-3 months old in April/May 2023. Flexible schedule(needs to be set/fixed with 1 month notice). Must have weekday availability(15-30hours). Nanny gets to pick how many hours they want to work but again once decided, it will be set/fixed for at-least a month. Weekend and evening availability is optional. Mom works from home and will be present but mostly unavailable during the shifts. Must be punctual but having own transportation is optional. Must be comfortable with dogs. Dogs may be on a different floor than the baby & nanny but interactions will occur. Ideally looking for a long term candidate to be with our family for the coming years but will consider shorter-term candidates as well. Preference given to a candidate who speaks: Spanish, French, Turkish/Azeri, or Persian/Farsi/Dari as we prefer our nanny to interact with our son in one of those languages. We will consider a live-in option, if desired by the nanny, but prefer live-out.
We love to travel so ideally looking for a nanny who can come on national & international trips(all expenses paid) with us.
Please reply with a bit about yourself and why you may be a good fit!

A little bit about us

We are seeking a full time nanny immediately to help care for our 4 mo old son in the Fair Oaks area.

This position will be full time (35-40 hours/week), M-F 9:00am - 4:00pm.

This position is a live out position (non-negotiable. we don’t have space in our house for live in).

We take covid precautions very seriously and only go out to grocery stores, outdoor walks, and any necessary appointments and are looking for someone who does the same, especially when cases are so high right now. We both work from home so will be available for any questions or help needed during the day.

Duties will include all care related to the baby during the day and light baby related housekeeping, if time permits. We do require that you have experience with infants and have professional references. If interested, please message me with your experience with infants and your available times for a zoom/facetime interview. Thank you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Fairfax, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Fairfax, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Fairfax, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
