A little bit about us

Kesan needs a nanny starting in August when he's 8 months while both of his parents are working from home (roughly 8a-2p Mon-Fri). He needs support with meal prep, feeding, changing, and outside activities/walks. A plus would be a nanny that speaks one of his parents' cultural languages (Igbo or Oromo).

A little bit about us

We’re in search of a full-time nanny to care for our 12 month old son Jackson during work hours Mon-Fri from 8am-6pm.

Jackson is sweet, easy-going and playful. He’s a great sleeper, naps twice a day, and eats just about everything. This makes the job much easier :)

We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, nurturing, and loving. You’re ideally someone who can tune in to his emotions, and make him feel safe and understood. You also love to play, teach, and have fun too!

We both work full time and need someone we can rely on to be trustworthy, have good judgment, and provide a healthy and safe environment for our son.

You must have reliable transportation, a working cell phone, and at least 1 year nanny experience. We’re looking for someone who can come to our home. We’re also open to joining a nanny share if there’s a family who’s able to always host at their home. We live in a community home with 12 others so we can’t host a nanny share here unfortunately.

If this all sounds like you and you’re interested, please reach out and let’s schedule a time to chat.

A little bit about us

We will need a caring and loving person to take care of our 16-month old Sophia starting October. I am looking for a full-time or a part-time care (25+ hours). Preferably a nanny share (but I am open to other offers too).

Sophia is a very active child who likes to play with other kids. I prefer her to spend time outdoors, playing, singing and reading books, rather that watchifng TV. I usually make homecooked meals for her and she looooves her food. She is very smart and outgoing. I'll need some help with a potty training too.

I look forward to meeting you :)

A little bit about us

I have a beautiful, healthy and happy newborn boy named Jack, and a happy playful 3 year old named Lily. I often need a babysitter to help between 3-6pm, and would like to develop a good ongoing relationship with a babysitter. Times and dates would vary, but will likely be multiple times a month, and would give plenty of notice (these are typically not for last second events)

No pets, and preferably care in our home.

A little bit about us

We are 2 Montclair families who live a 10 min walk apart seeking a full-time nanny share to be hosted at one home. We both live on Fairlane Drive in the Glen Highlands area of Montclair (just off of highways 13 + 24). Our two little ones will be 5 months and 11 months when we need care in the beginning of October, but can be flexible for the right fit.

We are seeking a high-energy nanny who can stimulate our babies, care for them lovingly, and provide some structure / routine to their days. We'd also like to talk about options for additional help with food prep and/or laundry (for example).

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Oakland. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions , it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

How to Interview for a Nanny Job in Oakland, CA

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here is a list of some nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What do you think children like best about you?
  • What kind of activities will you do with children this age?
  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?
