A little bit about us

Hi, we are looking for a nanny for our 7 year old and 4.5 year old daughters in Oakland. We're two physicians who have pretty busy and varying schedules. We are looking for a nanny who has their own reliable form of transportation to help care for our daughters and help shuttle them around. This could be a great opportunity for someone who wants to utilize breaks in the day to study for their coursework. This could also be a job for someone who is looking for Summer work, and could eventually transition to full-time position.

The girls are typically scheduled to be in school/daycare 5 days a week from ~ 9 am - 3 pm. We imagine most of your days starting at 7:45 am. Routine would often include getting them ready in morning for school/camps/activities on these days and then transporting them to these activities. While they are in school you can go about your day on these days until they are needed to be picked up at 3pm. You would then be relieved when we get home from work, around 6 p.m.
(You would not be paid during hours you are not involved in their care, unless specifically asked to do a household activity, errand, laundry etc)
Our schedules are such that we have a handful of days off during the week, and you will likely leave earlier than 6 pm on these particular days. On days our daughters are not in school/activities we would anticipate a 7:45 a.m.-6 pm schedule in the most extreme scenario. These days without school might include driving girls to their grandparents house in Oakland or Alamo and helping take care of them there before you are relieved by a grandparent.

We guarantee a minimum of 20 paid hours a week, and will pay this amount even if we need the employee to work less than those 20 hours a week. We would email you your specific hours for a particular work week no later than 1 week before. We anticipate your weekly schedule could be anywhere from 20-40 hours long.

Paid overtime at 1.5 hr rate if employee works over 40 hours in a week.
