We are first time expecting parents. Our daughter is due mid April, and we will require a nanny after about 3 months, so late July/August. We're looking for care Monday-Friday, during regular work hours, probably about 8am-5pm. We are looking to share a nanny who will take our baby outside everyday, and provide the necessary care to enable her to develop physically and educationally.

Brookline$16/hr  |  1 kid
We are first-time parents and both full-time teachers who welcomed our daughter, Mairead (rhymes with "parade"), in late October 2018. Erik teaches K-5 Special Education and Deirdre teaches 7-12th grade boys. Our careers working with children have given us a lot of perspective and insight on childcare and we consider ourselves to be approachable and easy to work with. We are 40 & 39 years of age and Deirdre coaches skiing and sailing after school. We are looking for both at home child care OR a local nanny share (Brookline/Newton/Needham/Waltham areas). If childcare is at our home the hours will be variable with some days arrivals home earlier than 3:30pm for Deirdre and 4:00 for Erik. We live in a centrally located first floor apartment on a quiet street in Brookline and do not expect a sitter to do any housework for us but just to tidy after themselves. We also do not anticipate having a caretaker watch our child if he/she is sick. Erik and Deirdre are outdoorsy and enjoy learning so an ideal fit would take Mairead out for walks around the neighborhood (great parks close by) and engage with her through reading and playing in our home; she's very content! The goal will be for our sitter to help us maintain our healthy routine for Mairead with sleeping and feeding. If a family was interested in nannyshare, our schedule would shift depending upon location. (Erik teaches in Waltham, Deirdre in Needham.)
