A little bit about us

We are on a list for daycare that was supposed to have us starting right after maternity leave ends (September). However, now they have pushed us back to at least 2024. We are looking for a sitter or nanny share between September and when daycare room opens. My husband and I work a hybrid model and are hoping to find a sitter who can come to our house. Ideally Monday-Friday 9-4:30ish. We also have 2 golden retrievers who are very friendly. Our son was born end of April so he is just a month or so old right now! By then he will be 5 months or so old.

A little bit about us

I am a teacher, and I have a daughter who will be 2 in May and a second child due in August. Starting around October, we will need care from 8am to about 3pm. My husband is a graduate student at VCU who works at home most days. We live in the Three Chopt area of Richmond, and we are looking for a family to nanny share. We can have care at our house or yours. We have a cockapoo puppy who spends most days in the office with dad. Our daughter is a bright and active toddler, and we're looking to nanny share with a family who has at least one child of a similar age (0-3 years old). She is in a daycare center for now, but we're looking for more affordable options when the new baby arrives. My husband and I are both fully vaccinated and boosted, and we're looking for a family and nanny that have similar covid safety standards. Please reach out if you are interested!

A little bit about us

Seeking a part-time, in home, nanny or nanny share.
Two days a week you would be with my daughter (2.5 years old), and son (5 months old), and one day a week it would just be my son.
We would start at about 15-18 hours a week, with the opportunity for more.
I work from home full time and just need someone to take care of the kids so I can focus. Duties include, fixing lunch/snacks for my daughter, preparing and giving bottles to my son, lots of play and activities with the toddler. She loves the playground in our neighborhood!

Day with just the baby is flexible, but prefer Tuesday and Wednesday for both children.

A little bit about us

Hello I’m a nurse by night and mom by day. I work a set schedule Sunday Monday and Tuesday nights. I try my best to seepehrn I can but this mama just can’t do it all. I would need the help on Monday and Tuesday mornings/afternoon from 10-5pm on both days. My kids love to go on walks. There’s a playground set in our backyard but also two parks within walking distance. They are picky eaters but the first few shifts I’ll show you what they eat and how they like it.

A little bit about us

We have a sweet 2 month old that we need taken care of while I work from home and sometimes outside of the house at my office 2 days a week, 10 am-4 pm. We have one dog who we have taken care of for walks, however he will request to go out back a few times while you’re home. Our baby is adjusting to an eat, play/awake, sleep schedule where I would take care of feeding (breastfed) when I’m home. We hope to find someone that is a good team fit on nurturing and loving our baby girl!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Richmond, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Richmond, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Richmond, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
