A little bit about us

Hi all! My husband and I are looking for a long-term nanny for our baby girl (6 months old) starting early/mid November. We are flexible on start date as I am on maternity leave through the middle of November. We are hoping to find someone who loves our daughter as their own and will be a long-term partner in raising our little girl! We are looking for a lovely nanny to watch our baby girl while my husband and I both work from home. Primary responsibilities will include caring and engaging our daughter in age-appropriate activities + outdoor play (as she gets older); preparing & feeding her all meals as she gets older; getting her out of the house daily (as she gets older); doing her laundry & dishes; keeping her room/play spaces clean and tidy. We are looking for someone who is a team-player and willing to help a bit around the house when schedules allow and after you’ve also had a time to rest/eat. We don’t need a house cleaner but things like wiping down countertops; load & empty the dishwasher; pick up & organize toys; wash, fold, put away baby’s laundry; occasional meal prep for family and errands. About you: Fun, energetic, sweet, patient, reliable, and punctual. Strong communication, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Must have previous experience caring for infants and young children; 2+ references available; CPR + First Aid certified; clean background check; clean driving record and your own safe, reliable car; non-smoker & up-to-date vaccines (COVID, flu, tdap). Ok working in a home with a well-behaved golden retriever (7 years old).

If the above sounds interesting, please send me a DM with more info about yourself and experience and we can set up some time to chat.

What is an Infant Nanny in Cardiff, CA

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Cardiff, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
