A little bit about us

My wife and I are going back to work in February and are seeking care for our child, Kenzo, who will be ~5 months in Feb. We're seeking someone who can reliably provide care for 2-3 days per week (depending on which days you prefer), for the foreseeable future (at least until he is 1 years old, but likely longer).

My partner and I work from home 2-3 days per week, and will stagger our schedules so one of us is always home and can directly handle any emergencies. Given his age, we mainly expect you to bottle feed him pumped breast milk / formula, give him play time, change him, and put him down for naps.

We have a 3 year old 20 pound dachshund mix who loves people and has never shown aggression. She spends most sunny months snoozing in the sun in our backyard. You won't need to tend to her.

The most important things we're looking for in a caregiver is someone who is reliable, can take direction, and is well-referred by others they've worked with. Our baby (currently 2 months) is already sleeping through the night and we're hoping to sleep train him to have 3-5 naps for 1-2 hours per day, so hopefully he'll be fairly low-maintenance.

A little bit about us

Everett will be 7.5 months old at the beginning of August and we are seeking full-time (8am-5pm) care from August through December. He is a healthy, smiley, ticklish little guy with chubby cheeks who is tackling new milestones every day (at nearly 5 months, he is learning to sit up). He is 100% breastmilk fed. My spouse and I both work hybrid schedules, some days in the office and some at home. We are both fully vaccinated / boosted.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Castro Valley, CA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Castro Valley, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Castro Valley, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
