A little bit about us

We are looking for part-time daily care for our daughter once we are both back at work after paternity leave. Our daughter will be 5 months old at the start date, so we are looking for someone who has experience with infants and is knowledgeable of developmental milestones and safety concerns related to infants. We also have a dog and cat and while you will not be responsible for any pet-related care, we are looking for someone comfortable around pets. Caregiver will be responsible for laundry/light housework related to our daughter (i.e., doing baby's laundry as needed, washing dishes related to baby, picking up toys, etc.) but will not be responsible for any other responsibilities of the household. All bottles and meals will be prepared in advance by us and snacks and drinks will be available to our caregiver. One of us works from home and will be in the house at all times but will be largely out of the way. However, this means someone is here for questions or emergencies should they arise!

Hours for the position are Monday-Friday from 11:00AM-3:00PM. beginning on May 13th in Pasadena. No transportation will be needed outside of getting to and from our house! We live in a very walkable neighborhood near the Rosebowl, so caregivers can enjoy walks with our little one during the day if wanted. Looking for someone who is willing to complete a background check, who is a non-smoker, and who is fully vaccinated. We prefer someone who is infant/toddler CPR/first aid certified but we are open to covering the cost of completing certification for the right fit.

I am a child psychologist myself, so I would be happy to provide information on developmental activities to do with infants at each developmental stage so that you feel comfortable in providing age-appropriate care.

A little bit about us

We're a sweet little family of three (plus a very, very round cat) looking for the perfect caregiver to add into the mix. We practice a slow, nature-centered approach to raising our daughter. Some might even say it's a Waldorf-ish approach. We spend lots of time on walks, reading books, or cooking delicious, nutritious meals in the kitchen. Our daughter loves morning cuddles, splashing in the bath, and saying "hi" to all the dogs we pass. We both work in the creative field with flexible jobs, so this would be a perfect job for someone who is a little nimble.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Pasadena, CA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Pasadena, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Pasadena, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
