A little bit about us

We are looking for a family and a nanny to share care with our almost 6-month-old son. Ideally, we'd start in March or April 2025, but we’re flexible.

About Us & Our Setup

We are a family of 5 - Mom, Dad, Baby, and 2 dogs. My husband works full-time onsite, and I will be transitioning to a hybrid work schedule soon.
We live in Montclair, Oakland, and will be hosting full-time.
Coverage needed: 5 days a week/ 10h per day (8 AM - 6 PM). The second family must need at least 40 hours per week, and we are happy to cover the extra hours ourselves.
We have 2 very gentle dogs who are used to being around babies.
We are creating a wonderful indoor & outdoor space for the babies, including a patio with engaging activities for their development.
Our home is safe and secure, with indoor and outdoor cameras for added peace of mind.
Our budget is $25-30/hr for 1:1 care | $20/hr for family share (slightly negotiable).

Requirements for Nannies:
✔️ Experience with infants
✔️ Engaging, nurturing, and prioritizes developmental activities
✔️ Reliable, calm, and punctual
✔️ High safety awareness

*Nice to have: Spanish or Portuguese speakers

What is an Infant Nanny in Piedmont, CA

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Piedmont, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
