A little bit about us

Hello! Our family is in search of a long term nanny for our daughters. The position is currently to care for our 18 month old and 3.5 year old daughters on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8am-4pm. Our 5 year old daughter will also be home during summer break and other school holidays. We are looking for a nanny who is comfortable with the daily routine of taking care of young children. This includes feeding, changing diapers, and MOST importantly, engaging with them and playing with them with joy and passion. We don’t use screen time at all so our nanny needs to be creative and must enjoy actually playing with kids. We like to go on walks, go to the park, play with dolls, read books, do arts and crafts and dance and sing. Overall, we want our nanny to truly love taking care of young kids and not to think of this as just a paycheck. We are looking for that personal connection. Of course it is also important for our nanny to be coachable, be good at following instructions, be dependable and punctual. If you are interested, please let me know! Thanks!

A little bit about us

My boyfriend and I are first time parents to a 6 month old son, Kameron. As full time working parents, we are looking for a trusting and loving nanny to care for our son during the week, while we work. Our son brings so much joy to our lives and we want to make sure we find the perfect match to ensure he is in caring hands while we can't be with him.

What is an Infant Nanny in Costa Mesa, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Costa Mesa, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
