A little bit about us

We are looking for a wonderful nanny to work with our smiley and joyful little girl, Didion, who is turning 1 in August.
We both work from home in Mar Vista a mile from the beach in Venice, but sometimes we are at the office.
Prefer to have someone here Monday through Thursday from mid-morning to around 4pm each day but open to working with your schedule.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone enthusiastic to do a variety of fun and educational things with her like walks, beach days, park and the museum (she just started walking!), but also creative activities and crafts at our home, where she can explore and be out in our nature.
I lived in Panama for a few years and speak Spanish (though I am a bit rusty!) so if you do speak Spanish, we'd love our daughter to have you speak some Spanish to her, too, if possible. When she is napping, we will need you to do light housework like clean up the kitchen, her dishes and play area as well as do her laundry and ensure her toys, etc. are tidy.
We are looking for our new nanny to be a true friend and support to us. We are kind, easy-going, have our daughter on a pretty simple routine with food, play, and naps but promise we aren't at all militant. We're really excited to hopefully connect with our new wonderful nanny soon!

A little bit about us

Getting a little ahead of the game...I will looking for a 1-year long nanny share in the Mar Vista area starting mid-February 2025, from 9am-5pm Monday-Thursday. I will have one boy, aged 5 months at that time. We live in a great neighborhood in Mar Vista, with a lot of indoor space and a spacious backyard, and would love to host the nanny share 50-100% of those dates! If 50%, I would want to host two of the days I wfh (Tues, Wed/Thurs). No pets. Would prefer a nanny who is willing to (from time to time) help out with cooking when I am able to take breaks to spend time with the kids. Of course, primary duties will always be taking care of / enjoying time with the kids - meal prep and light cleaning would be limited to approx. 1-1.5 hours per day.

A little bit about us

We are looking for a nanny that's very experienced with infant care, loving and engaging - our daughter is currently 2.5 months old as of mid April. We have no other children. Position is starting as soon as possible part-time on Tu/Th or Tu/W/Th, at least 9-5, then once mom goes back to work in June, 5 days a week, at least 9-5 (exact daily hours to be worked out once we better assess our needs). Hourly rate is flexible for the right person. Both mom and dad work from home most days. We're also looking for someone who is pet-friendly because we have a friendly dog. While you won't often need to care for the dog if we're home, you should be comfortable around dogs generally and willing to occasionally let her outside (in fenced yard) and do other light pet care during times when both mom and dad aren't home or are otherwise busy with work or the baby. We don't anticipate that you'll need to do much driving of/with the baby initially, but that's subject to change as she gets older, so we'd like someone with reliable transportation and good driving record. Most care for the baby will be at our home and taking her on walks nearby. Doing baby laundry and other baby-related cleaning (tidying nursery for example) is requested. Someone who can also cook some simple healthy meals for the family and run simple family errands (get groceries for example) is highly preferred. We'd like you to be open to traveling with us to provide child care if we go on vacation. Nanny should be fully vaccinated and have all infant-related certifications and qualifications (CPR, first aid, etc.). Thank you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Los Angeles, CA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Los Angeles, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Los Angeles, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
